988G Wheel Loader Machine Systems Caterpillar

Gear Pump (Pilot, Brake) - Assemble

Usage:

988G 2TW

Assembly Procedure

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

    Typical Example

  1. Check the condition of the components of seal kit (10). If any components are worn or damaged, use a new seal kit for replacement.

  1. Install seal (2) in flange (3) .

  1. Assemble cover (6), two gear assemblies (5), four dowels (4) and the seals (10) on flange (3) .

  1. Install four bolts (8). The torque for the bolts is 70.5 ± 2.5 N·m (52.0 ± 2.0 lb ft).

  1. Install snap ring (1) .

  1. Install two plugs (9). Tighten the plugs to a torque of 183 ± 14 N·m (135 ± 10 lb ft).

  1. Install relief valve (7). Tighten the relief valve to a torque of 47.5 N·m (35 lb ft).

End By: Install the gear pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Gear Pump (Pilot and Braking) - Install".
