Air Conditioner Belt - Inspect/Adjust/Replace - If Equipped
Inspect
- Inspect the condition of the compressor drive belt. The belt should deflect 14 to 20 mm (.56 to .81 inch) under 110 N (25 lb) of force. Use a 144-0235 Belt Tension Gauge in order to measure the tension.

Adjust/Replace
- Loosen compressor mounting bolts (1) and (2) .

- Loosen adjusting bracket nuts (3) .

- To achieve the correct belt tension, move the compressor inward or move the compressor outward. Tighten adjusting bracket nuts (3). Tighten compressor mounting bolts (1) and (2). Recheck the belt adjustment.
- If necessary, repeat Step 1 to Step 3.
Note: Use the same procedure in order to replace the belt.
