    NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement. Lubricate the O-ring seals with the lubricant that is being sealed.

  1. Lubricate the moving parts of the pump during assembly. This prevents damaging the pump during start-up.

  1. Install two dowel pins (17) to manifold assembly (2). Install the dowel pins until the face of the dowel pin is 5 ± 0.5 mm (.2 ± .02 inch) above the face of the manifold assembly. Use Tooling (A) to install two bearings (16) to manifold assembly (2). The bearing joint of the bearing should be 30 ± 15 degrees from the centerline of the manifold assembly. Install the bearings to a depth of 1.52 ± 0.25 mm (.06 ± .01 inch) below the surface of the manifold assembly.
