Selector Valve (Torque Converter Lockup Clutch) - Disassemble

Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the selector valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Selector Valve (Torque Converter Lockup Clutch) - Remove". The information is in this manual.


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Remove two bolts (1), cover (2) and O-ring seal (3) from valve assembly (4) .

  1. Remove spool (5), spool (6), spring (7) and guide (8) from valve assembly (4). Remove O-ring seal (9) from spool (5) .

  1. Remove two bolts (10), cover (11) and O-ring seal (12) from valve assembly (4) .

  1. Remove spring (13) and spacer (14) from valve assembly (4) .
