The cross rod stiffeners in the radiator guard need to be removed on certain 992G and 854G Wheel Loaders. The 1458520 or 1646351 Cross Rods may break or loosen, damaging the fan or radiator cores. Test have shown that the cross rods are not required due to design changes to the radiator guard at first production.

Parts Needed
Dealers will NOT need to order parts for this Program.
Action Required
1. Remove cover and primary guards as shown in Illustration 1.
2. Then remove the secondary guards closest to the fan blades. This will provide the access needed to remove the old parts.
3. To remove the cross rods, pull them straight down after they have been disconnected. There is room between the bumper and frame. If the machine is equipped with belly guards they will have to be removed to gain access. The rods can also be cut into pieces with a hand grinder for easier removal. They will not be reused.
