1. Remove the floorplate and the access panel to the LH console of the operators platform.
2. Disconnect the linkage rod and hoses from the 3T1078 Parking Brake Valve. Remove the valve and 3W9013 Mounting Plate as an assembly.
3. Clamp the 3W9013 Plate and 3T1078 Valve Assembly in a vise or other suitable holding device. Remove the 3T9254 Boot, 3T9255 Plate, 2-5S7349 Bolts, and 2-5P4115 Washers on the bottom side of the valve. These parts will not be reused.
Remove the 8C5722 Eyebolt, 6V8801 Nut, 6G6396 Washers, 3T9255 Plate, 2-5S7349 Bolts and 2-5P4115 Washers on the top side of the valve. Remove the 3T9254 Boot on the top side of the valve.
4. Inspect the valve for signs of oil leakage at the valve spool area, and check the valve spool ease of actuation (should shift each way with approximately 10 lbs. effort on the spool). If either of these conditions are not met, remove the 3T5225 Snap Rings and remove the spool from the valve. Throughly clean the spool and valve.
Inspect and replace the 3T5224 Seals in the valve assembly if necessary. Assembly as described in the Service Manual.
5. Throughly clean the top of the valve body and valve spool. Install new 8E4525 Boot in the 3T9255 Plate on top of the valve. Apply a thin coat of 3S6252 RTV Sealant to the boot sealing lip on the valve body side to seal the boot to the valve body. Install the 8C5722 Eyebolt, washer and nut that were removed. Tighten the nut to 14 ± 4 N·m. Install the valve assembly as described in the Service Manual.
6. Remove the 8Y0719 Linkage Rod and its 2-8T8932 Pin Assemblies. Remove the 1M1341 Rod Ends and 6V8183 Jam Nuts. Install the rod ends and jam nuts on the new 8E4280 Linkage Rod. Install the new linkage rod using 2-3K5601 Pins and 2-7V0446 Clips.
7. After installation, follow the procedures in the Testing and Adjusting portion of the Service Manual to make all necessary checks and adjustments.
