Travel Motor

(1) Connector

(2) Drain hose

To check the travel motor performance, use the following procedure to measure the amount of case drain oil.

  1. Disconnect case drain hose (2) from connector (1). Install a plug 13/16 - UN in the open end of case drain hose (2) .

  1. Connect one end of remote drain hose to connector (1). Place the other end of remote drain hose into the container for measuring case drain oil.

  1. Block the track in order to prevent forward travel.

  1. Move the travel control lever forward fully for one minute.

  1. Measure the amount of case drain oil.

  1. Remove the track block. Move the machine forward in order to place the travel motor in a different position.

  1. Repeat Steps 1 through 5.

The following values specify the maximum acceptable flow of case drain oil when the main relief valve pressure is set at 34300 ± 490 kPa (5000 ± 72 psi).

New travel motor ... 15 L/min (4 US gpm)
Rebuilt travel motor ... 18 L/min (4.8 US gpm)
