Maintenance Interval Schedule - Turbocharged 3034 Marine Engine

Usage:

3034 CPP
Note: Before performing any operation or maintenance procedures, ensure that the Safety Information, warnings, and instructions are read and understood.

To determine the maintenance intervals, use fuel consumption, service hours, or calendar time, whichever occurs first. Experience has shown that maintenance intervals are most accurately scheduled on the basis of fuel consumption.

Before each consecutive interval is performed, all of the maintenance items from the previous interval must also be performed.

When Required

Battery - Replace
Battery or Battery Cable - Disconnect
Engine Storage Procedure - Check
Fuel Control Linkage - Check/Lubricate
Fuel System - Prime

Daily

Cooling System Coolant Level - Check
Engine Oil Level - Check
Marine Transmission Oil Level - Check
Walk-Around Inspection

First 340 L (90 US gal) of Fuel or First 25 to 50 Service Hours

Alternator Belt - Inspect/Adjust/Replace
Engine Valve Lash - Inspect/Adjust

Every 3400 L (900 US gal) of Fuel or 500 Service Hours or 1 Year

Alternator Belt - Inspect/Adjust/Replace
Auxiliary Water Pump (Rubber Impeller) - Inspect
Battery Electrolyte Level - Check
Cooling System Supplemental Coolant Additive (SCA) - Test/Add
Engine Air Cleaner Element - Clean/Replace
Engine Mounts - Inspect
Engine Oil Sample - Obtain
Engine Oil and Filter - Change
Fuel System Secondary Filter - Replace
Hoses and Clamps - Inspect/Replace
Sea Water Strainer - Clean/Inspect

Every 6800 L (1800 US gal) of Fuel or 1000 Service Hours

Alternator - Inspect
Engine Valve Lash - Inspect/Adjust
Fuel Tank Water and Sediment - Drain
Marine Transmission Oil Cooler - Clean/Inspect
Starting Motor - Inspect
Turbocharger - Inspect

Every 13 600 L (3600 US gal) of Fuel or 2000 Service Hours

Cooling System Coolant (DEAC) - Change
Cooling System Water Temperature Regulator - Replace
Water Pump - Inspect

Every 20 400 L (5400 US gal) of Fuel or 3000 Service Hours

Cooling System Coolant Extender (ELC) - Add
Engine Crankcase Breather - Clean/Replace
Fuel Injection Nozzles - Test/Exchange

Every 40 800 L (10 800 US gal) of Fuel or 6000 Service Hours

Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change
