Fuel Injection Lines

Usage:

Remove & Install Fuel Injection Lines

1. Disconnect six nuts (2) from the valve cover bases.

2. Use tool (A) to disconnect six nuts (3) from the fuel injection pump housing.

3. Remove the bolts that hold five brackets (1) to the engine.

4. Remove the fuel injection lines as a unit. Put plugs and caps over all openings.

NOTE: The following steps are for installing the fuel injection lines.

5. Remove the plugs and caps. Install the fuel injection lines as a unit.

6. Hand tighten nuts (3) to the fuel injection pump housing. Hand tighten nuts (2) to the valve cover bases.

7. Install the bolts that hold five brackets (1) to the engine.

8. Use tool (A) to tighten fuel line nuts (3) to a torque of 41 ± 7 N·m (30 ± 5 lb ft).

9. Tighten nuts (2) to a torque of 41 ± 7 N·m (30 ± 5 lb ft).

10. Remove (bleed) the air from the fuel system.

NOTE: If it is necessary to loosen any of the fuel line clamps, retorque the screws to 2.26 N·m (20 lb in).
