Installation of the 346-3423 Pilot Lines Gp on Certain Hydraulic Excavators{5057, 5059}

Introduction

The Special Instruction, GEHS0338 is for the installation of the 346-3423 Pilot Lines Gp "Revision level -02". If you need more information about the installation of the Pilot Lines Gp on your machine, consult your Cat dealer.

Prevent the machine from movement. Park the machine on a level surface.

Attach a "Do Not Operate" warning tag or a similar warning tag to the start switch before you service the equipment. These warning tags (Special Instruction, SEHS7332) are available from your Caterpillar dealer.

  1. Assemble pilot valve (7) to support (8) using two bolts (18) and two washers (17) .

  1. Assemble fittings (10) and (12), and plugs (13) into valve (7) as shown.

  1. Secure solenoid valve assembly (7) to medium pressure valve support (B) using four bolts (16) and four washers (15).

  1. Place one tee (6) into port "Pa1" of medium pressure valve (A). Assemble nipple (14) and dust cap (4) in center port of tee (6) .

  1. Place one tee (6) into port "Pb1" of medium pressure valve (A). Assemble nipple (14) and dust cap (4) in center port of tee (6) .

  1. Attach angled end of hose (1) to port "Pb1" of Medium pressure valve (A) .

  1. Attach straight end of hose (1) to port "B1" of Solenoid valve (7) .

  1. Attach angled end of hose (9) to port "Pa1" of Medium pressure valve (A) .

  1. Attach straight end of hose (9) to port "B2" of Solenoid valve (7) .

  1. Wrap one white hose band (3) around each end of hose (5) .

  1. Attach straight end of hose (5) to port "T" of Solenoid valve (7). Route opposite end of hose (5) below machine main valve to pilot selector valve.

  1. Wrap two blue hose bands (2) around each end of hose (11) .

  1. Attach angled end of hose (11) to port "P" of Solenoid valve (7). Route opposite end of hose (11) toward front of machine and under the cab to pilot manifold.

  1. Locate port "DR6" on machine control manifold (D). Remove existing 148-8407 plug and discard.

  1. Place elbow (12) into port "DR6" of machine control manifold (D) .

  1. Attach hose (5) to elbow (12) at port "DR6" of machine control manifold (D).
