Description of Change: A Power Up Time Delay Relay (PUTDR) is being added to the Engine Supervisory System (ESS) panel. The PUTDR will help ensure that the proper shutdown sequence is executed prior to reapplying power. The new PUTDR will cause the ESS to wait for 5 seconds before turning on the power if the Mode Control Switch is moved from the OFF/RESET to any other position.
Adaptable To: The components that follow are parts of the new PUTDR:
Figure 1 shows the new components. The new components can be installed in the ESS panels that do not include the PUTDR. | |

Refer to the applicable Operation And Maintenance Manual, "General Hazard Information" before you begin this procedure. Attach a "Do Not Operate Tag" to the "Mode Control Switch" before starting this procedure.
The components that are identified in Figure 1 are required for this installation procedure.

- Disconnect ESS terminal (568) from ESS terminal (533) .
- Connect PUTDR terminal socket (A) to ESS terminal (568) and connect PUTDR terminal socket (A) to PUTDR terminal socket (7) .
- Connect PUTDR terminal socket (4) to ESS terminal (533) .
- Connect PUTDR terminal socket (B) to ESS terminal (353) .
