Introduction

This Special Instruction provides the information needed to obtain a warranty report file.

Warranty Report Upload

Preliminary Information

Note: The Warranty Report file is NOT required to obtain warranty payment on the products listed in this publication. The main purpose is to provide Caterpillar with additional information when helping dealers resolve issues through DSN or CPI.

Starting with Cat ET 2010B v1.0, the Cat ET download process has been automated:

When PC is connected to Internet:

  • The warranty report file will be uploaded to SIMSi from Cat ET.

When PC is not connected to Internet:

  • The warranty report file can be saved to a common location on the PC.

  • File can be manually loaded to SIMSi"Add Service Image" or other systems such as DSN when the file is saved to the users PC similar to the Product Status Report.
