New Time Delay Relay Used In The Engine Supervisory System (ESS) {7490}

Description of Change: A new time delay relay is used in the ESS on these engines. The new time delay relay required a different set up procedure. See the Set Up Procedure.

Adaptable To: The new 168-7823 Time Delay Relay replaces the former 163-3266 Time Delay Relay. The former time delay relay is cancelled.

Note: The same electrical connections exist between the ESS panel and the time delay relays. However, the physical terminal locations are different on the new relay and the former relay.

Set Up Procedure

When the 168-7823 Time Delay Relay is set up in the following way, a time delay of approximately 13 seconds will result.

168-7823 Time Delay Relay

  1. Turn potentiometer (A) to a value of 40 percent.

  1. Turn rotary switch (B) until the value 30s is in the opening (B1) .

  1. Turn rotary switch (C) until the value B is in the opening (C1). Do NOT set a value of "B·" (B followed by a dot) in the opening (C1) .
