T4 Alternator Drive System - Check

Usage:

  • Check the condition of the alternator drive belt. If the drive belt is oily, clean the pulleys. Replace the drive belt, and retest the system. If the drive belt is wet, dry the belt and retest the system. If the drive belt is worn, replace the belt and retest the system.

    1. Check the tension of the alternator drive belt. If the tension is off, adjust the tension.

    1. Check the nut on the alternator pulley. If the nut is loose, tighten the nut and retest the system.

    1. If all of the previous steps find no problems go to Testing and Adjusting, "T3 Charging System - Test".
