(5) Dimension from the center of the main bearing bore to the bottom of the new cylinder block ... 153.99 ± 0.10 mm (6.063 ± .004 inch)

(6) Bolts that hold the bearing caps for the main bearings

  1. Apply 6V-4876 Lubricant on the threads and on the face of the washer.

  1. Tighten all of the bolts to a torque of 41 ± 4 N·m (30 ± 3 lb ft).

  1. Put a mark on each bolt and each cap.

  1. Tighten each bolt to an additional 90 ± 5 degrees from the mark.

Note: Install the bearing caps with the part number toward the front of the engine. Ensure that the mark (number) on the bearing cap next to the bolt hole is in agreement with the mark in the cylinder block.

(7) Main bearing cap

Clearance between the main bearing cap and the cylinder block (tight clearance) ... 0.033 mm (.0013 inch)
Clearance between the main bearing cap and the cylinder block (loose clearance) ... 0.043 mm (.0017 inch)
Main bearing cap width ... 165.095 ± 0.020 mm (6.4998 ± .0008)
Width of the cylinder block for the main bearing cap ... 165.100 ± 0.018 mm (6.5000 ± .0007 inch)
