(1) Distance between end of magnetic pickup and ring gear ... 0.10 ± 0.75 mm (0.004 ± 0.030 inch)

To set the distance between the magnetic pickup and the ring gear, use the procedure that follows. The engine must be stopped.

1. Turn the magnetic pickup until the magnet is against the ring gear tooth.

   1. To ensure that the magnetic pickup is against a tooth on the ring gear, look through the opening that is in the flywheel housing.

2. Back out the magnetic pickup by 120 degrees ± 18 degrees. Tighten nut (2).

(2) Tighten the nut to the following torque. ... 25 ± 5 N·m (18 ± 4 lb ft)
