Description of Change: A new display software group is now available on the machines listed above equipped with the Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) group monitor (DP200). The new display software group allows certain Higher Regulated Country (HRC) and Lower Regulated Country (LRC) vibratory soil compactor machines to use the same display software group. Previously the machines had their own respective display software group. The machines will continue to use their own respective Main Machine Software.
The new display software group contains additional languages. The new languages are; Polish, Portuguese, Chinese, and Turkish. The new languages are an addition to existing languages; English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.
The desired language can be selected on the display after performing the flash procedure by selecting - Main Menu > Basic Setup > Languages.
The new display software group must be used with the latest machine software group. Refer to Table 1 for the latest machine software group. Refer to Table 3 for HRC and LRC identification by machine serial number prefix.
Note: Flash software is required when replacing a display or machine controller. New display modules and controllers come preloaded with generic software only, and require machine-specific software in order to function properly with the machine.

The Flash Files can be downloaded from Caterpillar Service Information System (SIS) under Service Software Files (1). Search the Flash File by entering the software part number into the "Flash Filename" search field. The latest software file will be displayed for download.
The software flash files must be installed with the Plus+1 Service Tool for Caterpillar (P1STC) software program with the machine specific .P1D diagnostic file.
Ensure to save the machine parameters with the Target Flash, ECM Service, procedure. The saved parameter file stores Display and Machine ECM information in one .XML type file. A machine configuration and calibration will be required if the parameters are not saved.
External radio interference from external power supplies, old, or self manufactured cables, and/or low machine battery voltage can affect the flash procedure. It is recommended to perform the flash procedure with laptop battery power, the recommended Caterpillar cables, and fully charged machine batteries. If the flash process fails, an Electronic Control Module (ECM) Recovery procedure may be necessary in order to restart the flash procedure.
The Display ECM software is adaptable to the machines and effective in production with the machines that are listed in Table 3.
