Service Magazine REHS9306, 24 January 2014, "Procedure to Install a New Oil Filter Base Assembly on 797 Off-Highway Trucks". Disregard the original article and special instruction. The procedure has been updated to replace the former O-Ring plug with a new plug in the oil filter base assembly. Refer to the article that follows.

Description of Change: A procedure to replace the 155-6061 Oil Filter Gp with a new 448-1345 Oil Filter Base Gp is now available. The procedure is available for the machines listed above. The new 448-1345 Oil Filter Base Gp has a single piece 378-8507 Oil Filter Base As which reduces the potential leak points.

The special instruction can be found on the Caterpillar service information system (SIS) and through the normal literature distribution system at your local Cat dealer.

One of the former 9S-4185 O-Ring Plug is removed. Another O-Ring plug is replaced by a new plug (7). The new plug (7) and a new O-Ring seal (3) are attached to one end of the oil filter base assembly (1) in order to assemble 221-3407 Pressure Sensor Gp to the end of oil filter base assembly (1).
