Caterpillar bearing kits are being updated to a new consist standard in response to input from dealers and customers. The new standard improves kit completeness, simplifies ordering, and eliminates inconsistency of the types of parts included in bearing kits.
The new standard includes all parts required to perform a rebearing/reseal and is shown in the chart below. Seals, gaskets, and locks are omitted from transmission and torque converter bearing kits to avoid duplication of gasket kits. Metal duo cone seals are omitted from final drive bearing kits for all machine models except 784B Tractors, 785, 785B, 789, 789B, 793, 793B Trucks.
Caterpillar will phase in kits built to the new standard over the next six months.
Current information on all bearing kits can be found in the new Bearing Kit Microfiche SBFY0611. Redesigned kits are identified with a new part number. Complementary gasket kits are published in Gasket Kit Microfiche SBFY0676. These microfiche will be updated regularly.
