Standard Machine Configuration

Note: Verify that the charge relief valve is within specification prior to performing this procedure. Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting,, " "Relief Valve (Charge) Test and Adjust"".

  1. Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface.

  1. Move propel lever (1) to the NEUTRAL position.

  1. Move parking brake switch (2) to the ON position.

  1. Use throttle control switch (3) in order to operate the engine in low idle.

  1. Move engine start switch (4) to the OFF position.

  1. Unlock latches (5) and open engine hood (6) .

  1. Raise support bar (7) and secure the engine hood.

  1. Loosen set screw (9) on needle valve (8) for the parking brakes.

    Note: Needle valve (8) is located in the engine compartment, on the right side of the machine.

  1. Rotate needle valve (8) clockwise in order to close the valve. Tighten set screw (9) .

  1. Assemble the tooling. Connect Tool (B) to Tool (C). Connect other Tool (B) to Tool (D) .

  1. Connect both sets of Tool (B) to Tool (A) .

  1. Connect Tool (D) to charge pressure tap (10). Connect Tool (C) to forward pressure tap "Ma" (11) on the propel pump.

  1. Move engine start switch (4) to the START position. Release the switch when the engine starts.

  1. Operate the engine at low idle for a few minutes. Use throttle control switch (3) in order to operate the engine at 2250 rpm (high idle).

  1. Monitor the hydraulic oil temperature with Tool (E). Operate the machine until the oil temperature reaches 43 ± 5.6° C (110 ± 10° F).

  1. Move shift switch (12) to the HIGH position.

  1. Move parking brake switch (2) to the OFF position.

  1. With the machine at high idle, move propel lever (1) forward until the pressure at forward pressure tap (11) reaches 10335 kPa (1500 psi).

  1. Read the pressure at charge pressure tap (10) on Tool (A). Record this pressure as "flushing relief pressure.

  1. Move propel lever (1) back to the NEUTRAL position. Read charge pressure on Tool (A). Record this pressure as "charge pressure".

  1. The pressure differential between flushing relief pressure and charge pressure should be 117 ± 70 kPa (17 ± 10 psi).

  1. Move parking brake switch (2) to the ON position.

  1. Use throttle control switch (3) in order to operate the engine in low idle.

  1. Move engine start switch (4) to the OFF position.

  1. Remove the tooling from charge pressure tap (10) and forward pressure tap "Ma" (11) .

  1. Loosen set screw (9) on needle valve (8) for the parking brake. Rotate needle valve (8) counterclockwise in order to open the valve. Tighten set screw (9) .

  1. Remove and secure support bar (7). Close engine hood (6) .

  1. Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface.

  1. Assemble the tooling. Connect Tool (B) to Tool (C). Make two sets of tooling.

  1. Connect both sets of tooling to Tool (A) .

  1. Connect one Tool (C) to forward pressure tap "Ma" (11) on the propel pump. Connect other Tool (C) to reverse pressure tap "Mb" (10) on the propel pump.

  1. Move engine start switch (4) to the START position. Release the switch when the engine starts.

  1. Operate the engine at low idle for a few minutes. Use throttle control switch (3) in order to operate the engine at 2250 rpm (high idle).

  1. Monitor the hydraulic oil temperature with Tool (D). Operate the machine until the oil temperature reaches 43 ± 5.6° C (110 ± 10° F).

  1. Read the pressure at reverse pressure tap (10) on Tool (A). Record this pressure as "flushing relief pressure".

  1. Move propel lever (1) back to the NEUTRAL position. Read reverse pressure on Tool (A). Record this pressure as "charge pressure".

  1. The pressure differential between flushing relief pressure and charge pressure should be 415 ± 207 kPa (60 ± 30 psi).

  1. Move parking brake switch (2) to the ON position.

  1. Use throttle control switch (3) in order to operate the engine in low idle.

  1. Move engine start switch (4) to the OFF position.

  1. Loosen set screw (9) on needle valve (8) for the parking brake. Rotate needle valve (8) counterclockwise in order to open the valve. Tighten set screw (9) .

  1. Remove the tooling.

  1. Remove and secure support bar (7). Close engine hood (6) .
