Consumable Management

Usage:

- TER
Note: This option is only valid for drills and draglines.

This option enables a user to define a list of consumable types used on a drill or a dragline. Tracking consumables for a machine allows for improved reporting. Reporting is used to predict when a consumable, such as a drag rope, needs inspection, repair, or replacement to ensure maximum availability for the machine.

Adding Consumables Actions

Perform the following procedure to add a consumables action:

  1. In the "Control Center", click "Onboard Lists". The Onboard List (MWF) configuration dialog displays.

  2. From the drop-down list, select "Consumables Actions".

  3. Click "Add".

  4. In the "Identifier Field", enter a unique numeric identifier for the consumable.

  5. In the "Name" field, select a Name for the action.

  6. Click "Apply" to save and continue adding or click "OK" to save and exit.

Adding Consumable Types

Perform the following procedure to add a consumable type:

  1. In the "Control Center", click "Onboard Lists". The Onboard List (MWF) configuration dialog displays.

  2. From the drop-down list, select "Consumables Types". The list is pre-populated with Bit, Stabilizer, and Pipe.

  3. Click "Add".

  4. In the "Name" field, enter a name for the consumable type. The Name can be alphanumeric. The consumable type displays in the table on the left.

  5. Specify the "Actions" to be used for the consumable type. The user is able to select more than one action. The actions are included in the .mwf file for the consumable type.

  6. Select whether the "Machine Type" this consumable type is for a drill, dragline, or both.

  7. Click "Apply" to save and continue adding, or click "OK" to save and exit.

Generating the Consumables Types MWF

Perform the following procedure:

  1. On the "Consumables Types" screen, click the "Generate Consumables MWF" button.

  2. Click "Manage and Transfer" files in the Control Center, or click the "File Manager" tab if the user already has the file open.

    The generated file will be in the Onboard Lists folder in the relevant machine file folder.

  3. Click "Apply" to save and continue, or click "OK" to save and exit.

Adding Consumables Suppliers

Perform the following procedure to add consumables suppliers:

  1. In the "Control Center", click "Onboard Lists". The Onboard List (MWF) configuration dialog displays.

  2. From the drop-down list, select "Consumables Suppliers".

  3. Click "Add".

  4. In the "Identifier Field", enter a unique numeric identifier for the supplier.

  5. In the "Name" field, enter the name of the supplier.

  6. In the "Details" field, enter any further information about the supplier. For example, phone number and email.

  7. Click "Apply" to save and continue adding, or click "OK" to save and exit.

Adding Consumables Models

Note: Consumable models are part numbers.

Perform the following procedure to add consumables models:

  1. In the "Control Center", click "Onboard Lists". The Onboard List (MWF) configuration dialog displays.

  2. From the drop-down list, select "Consumables Models".

    Note: If the user has many models, select the "Show Dragline" or "Show Drill" check box to display models for that machine type only. Select "Show Archived" to include archived model types.

  3. Click "Add".

  4. Select the "Consumable Type".

  5. In the "Name" field, enter a model number. The name can be alphanumeric.

  6. If the user is entering a drill consumable, perform the following procedure:

    1. From the Bit Type drop-down list, select the type of bit. Available types are None, Hammer, or Rotary.

    2. From the Bit Diameter drop-down list, select the appropriate drill bit diameter (in inches).

  7. In the "Description" field, enter a description of the part.

  8. From the "Supplier" drop-down list, select a supplier.

  9. Click "Apply" to save and continue adding, or click "OK" to save and exit.

Adding Consumables

Perform the following procedure to add a consumable:

  1. In the "Control Center", click "Onboard Lists". The Onboard List (MWF) configuration dialog displays.

  2. From the drop-down list, select "Consumables".

  3. Enter the serial number of the consumable.

  4. Filter the consumable model by Type and Supplier by clicking the drop-down arrows and selecting what criteria to filter by.

  5. From the "Model" drop-down list, select a model.

    Note: This field may be empty if there is no model that references the selected consumable type or consumable supplier.

    A default supplier and default model is created when migrating existing consumables types from the database.

    "DEFAULT_SUPPLIER" is created and stored as the supplier name.

    "DEFAULT_<consumable type>" is created and stored as the model name. For example, "DEFAULT_BIT" is created for consumable type Bit.

  6. Click "Apply" to save and continue adding, or click "OK" to save and exit.

Editing Consumables

Perform the following procedure to edit a consumable:

  1. Open "Onboard Lists".

  2. From the drop-down list, select "Consumables", "Consumables Actions", "Consumables Suppliers", "Consumables Types", or "Consumables Models", depending on the edit criteria.

    Note: If editing "Consumables" or "Consumables Types" and the user has many models, select the "Show Dragline" or "Show Drill" check box underneath the list to display models for that machine type only.

  3. Select the consumable to edit.

  4. Make the required changes.

  5. Click "Apply" to save and continue editing or click "OK" to save and exit.

Generating the Consumables MWF

Perform the following procedure:

  1. Click the "Generate Consumables MWF" button.

  2. Click "Manage and Transfer Files" in the Control Center. Click "File Manager" tab if "Manage and Transfer Files" is already open.

    Note: The generated file will be in the "Onboard Lists" folder in the relevant machine file folder.

    The generated .mwf file contains the following information:

    • Suppliers (ID and name)

    • Actions (ID and name)

    • Action sets (ID, name, and actions)

    • Consumable types (ID, name, description, action sets, suppliers, models, instances)

  3. Click "Apply" to save and continue or click "OK" to save and exit.

Archiving Consumables

Perform the following procedure to archive a consumable:

  1. 1. Open "Onboard Lists".

  2. From the drop-down list, select "Consumables", "Consumable Actions", "Consumable Suppliers", "Consumables Types", or "Consumable Models", depending on the consumable selected to archive.

  3. Select the consumable to archive.

  4. Click "Archive". The consumable is grayed out.

  5. Click "Apply" to save and continue archiving. Click "OK" to save and exit.

    Note: Once consumables are archived, consumables can be displayed in the table by selecting the "Show Archived" check box. Archived consumables are displayed as grayed out.

Restoring Consumables

Perform the following procedure to restore a consumable:

  1. 1. Open "Onboard Lists".

  2. From the drop-down list, select "Consumables", "Consumable Actions", "Consumable Suppliers", "Consumables Types", or "Consumable Models", depending on the consumable selected to restore.

  3. Select the consumable to restore.

  4. Click "Restore".

    Note: The consumable is shown in black text.

  5. Click "Apply" to save and continue restoring or click "OK" to save and exit.
