Description of Change: The new hoses contain a stronger, woven reinforcement material. The former reinforcement material was a fishnet material. The new reinforcement material will better handle the conditions in the field. The new T-bolt clamps are stronger than the former band clamps.
Adaptable To:
Illustration 1 | g02198558 |
The three new parts are adaptable to machines WTK1-UP, JXP1-174, and JRP1-2490.
The three new parts became effective in production with machines JXP175-215 and JRP2491-3060.
The four new 360-3418 Hoses (1) and the four new 362-6751 Hoses (3) use two new 208-7448 Clamps (2) on each end. Remove the 32 9X-2201 Hose Clamps from hoses (1) and (3), Install two new 208-7448 Clamps (2) on both ends of each hose. Refer to Illustration 1. Tighten all clamps (2) to a torque of 7.5 ± 1.0 N·m (66.4 ± 8.9 lb in).
Illustration 2 | g02663260 |
Effective in production with machines JRP3061-UP, and JXP216-UP the 362-6751 Hoses (3) no longer require two 208-7448 Clamps (2) on both ends of each 362-6751 Hoses (3). Refer to Illustration 2. A single clamp design is adequate for withstanding the air flow during machine operation.
Damage may occur on machines where there is not sufficient spacing when two 208-7448 Clamps are used on the turbo housing. Recommend that during a normal machine maintenance or inspection.
The four engine air intake hoses are inspected and replace, if damaged.
One 208-7448 Clamp is removed from each end of the four engine air intake hoses.
Factory installed machines that are equipped with four 362-6751 Hoses and two 208-7448 Clamps on both ends of the hose are JRP2491-3060 and JXP175-215. Machines in the field that have been updated with four 362-6751 Hoses and two 208-7448 Clamps on both ends of the hose, or machines equipped with four 186-2002 Hoses that have been updated with two 208-7448 Clamps on both ends of the hose should also proceed with the same recommendations.
