NOTE: Cut gaskets even with the bottom of front housing and front plate after the housing is installed on the engine.

(1) Tighten the two studs to a torque of ... 55 ± 5 N·m (40 ± 4 lb ft)

(2) Put 5P3413 Pipe Sealant on the threads of the two bolts at assembly. Tighten the bolts to a torque of ... 45 ± 7 N·m (33 ± 5 lb ft)

(3) Tighten three bolts marked "X" to a torque of ... 45 ± 7 N·m (33 ± 5 lb ft)

(4) Put 9S3263 Thread Lock on the threads of the two studs at assembly. Tighten the two nuts that hold cover on the studs to a torque of ... 45 ± 7 N·m (33 ± 5 lb ft)

NOTE: Ten studs (4) and (5) must be installed to extend above the housing surface to a dimension of ... 26.0 ± 1.5 mm (1.02 ± .06 in)

(5) Put 9S3263 Thread Lock on the threads of the eight studs at assembly. Tighten five studs marked "V" to a torque of ... 35 ± 5 N·m (26 ± 4 lb ft)

(6) On each of the three studs, put 9S3263 Thread Lock on the stud serrations and each side of the gasket before installation in the timing gear plate and cylinder block.

NOTE: Heads of studs must not be more than 4.5 mm (.18 in) above the surface of the timing gear plate after installation.
