Usage:
With the volt-ohm meter tests, it is not possible to accurately determine the correct adjustment of the linkages to the throttle position sensor.
It is also not possible to use the volt-ohm meter to determine if a customer specified parameter is causing the problem. For example, if the low cruise control limit is set at 72 km/h (45 mph), the cruise control could not be activated below this speed. This might result in a complaint that the cruise control does not work. A more typical value for low cruise control limit is 48 to 56 km/h (30 to 35 mph).
To check the customer specified parameters, it is necessary to use one of the 3406C (PEEC III) electronic tools [(7X6400) Digital Diagnostic Tool (DDT) or (8T8697) Electronic Control Analyzer And Programmer (ECAP)]. See Electronic Troubleshooting, 3406C (PEEC III) Diesel Truck Engine, Form No. SENR5503.
