The Body Exhaust Arrangement is Updated {1061, 1062}

Usage:

775F DLS
Off-Highway Truck:
773F (S/N: EED1-UP)
775F (S/N: DLS1-UP)

ReferenceDisassembly and Assembly, RENR8286, "773F Off-Highway Truck and 775F Off-Highway Truck Machine Systems", "Pin (Body Retaining) - Remove and Install"

Description of Change: A new muffler group is now used in the body exhaust arrangement. The new muffler group will reduce exhaust leakage.

Adaptable To: The new 312-9107 Muffler Gp is a direct replacement for the former 281-2272 Muffler Gp in the 251-1573 Body Exhaust Ar. The new muffler group is adaptable back to the beginning of production of the machines. The new muffler group became effective in production with the machines DLS452-UP and EED459-UP.

Use the following procedure in order to install the new muffler group.

  1. Refer to Illustration 6 and Illustration 7. By using two 8T-4136 Bolts (3) and two 8T-4121 Hard Washers (2), install 269-2094 Strap (8) to the platform on the right side in order to assist in positioning the muffler. Torque the bolts to 55 ± 10 N·m (40 ± 8 lb ft).

    Install the 281-2263 Muffler (10) to the exhaust system through the opening between the brackets that are used in order to mount the hood. By using two 141-1480 Clamp As (6), attach the muffler to tube assembly (B) and tube assembly (F). Attach the end of the muffler to the 257-8616 Tube (not shown) by using clamp (H). Leave the clamps loose until the muffler straps are installed.

  1. By using two 8T-4195 Bolt (4) and two 8T-4121 Hard Washers (2), attach the 269-2094 Strap (8) to the 284-7050 Bracket As (J). Torque the bolts to 55 ± 10 N·m (40 ± 8 lb ft).

    By using four 0S-1590 Bolts (1) and four 030-9209 Locknuts (5), attach one 256-9398 Strap (7) to each 269-2094 Strap (8). Torque the bolts to 47 ± 9 N·m (35 ± 7 lb ft).

  1. Torque clamp (H) to 100 ± 20 N·m (74 ± 15 lb ft). Torque V-band clamp (C) to 7.5 ± 1.0 N·m (66 ± 9 lb in). Torque the two 141-1480 Clamp As (6) to 7.5 ± 1.0 N·m (66 ± 9 lb in).
