Usage:
START BY:
a. remove air cleaner (industrial engine)
b. remove turbocharger (marine engine)
c. remove electric starting motor
d. remove sump pump (if so equipped)
e. remove oil pan
f. remove crankshaft rear seal and wear sleeve
1. Remove air cleaner support bracket (2) from flywheel housing (4).
2. Remove two bolts (3) and cover (1) from the housing.
3. Install tool (A) on the flywheel housing, and fasten a hoist as shown.
4. Remove the bolts (5) that fasten the flywheel housing to the cylinder block.
5. Remove the flywheel housing from the cylinder block.
6. Thoroughly clean the contact surfaces of the cylinder block and flywheel housing. Install a new gasket between the block and housing.
7. Put the flywheel housing in position on the cylinder block.
8. Use the following procedure to tighten the bolts that fasten the flywheel housing to the cylinder block.
a. Tighten bolts 1 through 9 in number sequence to a torque of 100 ± 10 lb.ft. (135 ± 14 N·m).
b. Tighten bolts 10 through 19 in number sequence to a torque of 40 ± 5 lb.ft. (55 ± 7 N·).
c. Tighten bolts 1 through 9 again in number sequence to a torque of 100 ± 10 lb.ft. (135 ± 14 N·m).
d. Tighten bolts 10 through 19 again in number sequece to a torque of 40 ± 5 lb.ft. (55 ± 7 N·m).
9. Install cover (1) with two bolts and lockwashers.
10. Install air cleaner support bracket (2) on the flywheel housing.
END BY:
a. install crankshaft rear seal and wear sleeve
b. install oil pan
c. install sump pump (if so equipped)
d. install electric starting motor
e. install turbocharger (marine engine)
f. install air cleaner (industrial engine)
