Location of the transmission oil cooler | |
The outlet oil from the torque converter flows to the transmission oil cooler which is located on the bottom of the machine behind the rear axle. The transmission oil cooler is behind guard (1). As oil flows through the cooler, engine coolant flows around the core assembly. In this way, heat is transferred from the oil to the engine coolant. The cooled oil from the cooler provides lubrication and cooling to the transmission. The lubrication oil flows into each transmission shaft. This is done in order to lubricate the bearings, the gears, and the clutches. This is also done in order to cool the bearings, the gears, and the clutches.
