Problem
New IQAN application software will be released. The new software contains new application codes. The new application codes must be installed onto your access key before the application software can be flashed into a machine.
Solution
The application codes can be acquired by creating a Caterpillar Dealer Solution Network Product Health Service Request through your Dealer Technical Communicator (TC). Include in the service request the machine serial number, hours, and reference this publication in the problem description along with the need for the specific code for this machine prior to submitting to Caterpillar.
The DSN may use the following options to obtain the new application codes.
Option 1
Return your hard access key. The new application codes will be installed on the key. The hard access key with the new application codes will then be returned to you.
Option 2
A copy of your public key must be sent by E-mail.
Your public key can be accessed by the following:
- File
- Application code manager
- Public key
Send the public key via E-mail by clicking "send as mail". This process will start your E-mail. You can also copy the public key by clicking "copy". Then paste the public key into an E-mail message.
A safe application code will be sent by E-mail back to you. Then add the safe application code to your application code. Open the dialog box for adding or deleting application codes by selecting:
- File
- Application code Manager Select "add safe" to add a safe application code to the file.
