1	Use the following procedure before assembly:
-	Clean the surfaces of the parts in order to be free of oil, grease, fuel, or any other contaminants.
-	Apply primer to one of the mating parts and allow drying before applying sealant.
-	Apply blue Loctite High Flex GM to one of the mating parts.
2	3	Bolts	Torque to 105 ± 20 N·m (77 ± 15 lb ft)
3	Use 277-8280 Shim Pack in order to obtain proper end play.
-	4	Shims	Thickness of 0.20 mm (0.008 inch)
-	6	Shims	Thickness of 0.05 mm (0.002 inch)
4-5	Assemble sprockets so that the teeth on the sprockets are aligned with each other.
6	-	Bolts	Torque to 270 ± 40 N·m (199 ± 30 lb ft)
7	Do not use the four locking bolts in the corners to pull the final drive housing into initial contact with the tandem.
7	-	Bolts	Torque to 270 ± 40 N·m (199 ± 30 lb ft)
8	Use the following shims in order to obtain the proper bearing preload:
-	2	9D-7047 Shims	Thickness of 0.51 mm (0.020 inch)
-	5	7D-8439 Shims	Thickness of 0.18 mm (0.007 inch)
-	5	7D-8441 Shims	Thickness of 0.13 mm (0.005 inch)
9	3	Bolts	Torque to 270 ± 40 N·m (199 ± 30 lb ft)
10	-	Bolts	Torque to 270 ± 40 N·m (199 ± 30 lb ft)
11	Lightly lubricate the sealing lip of the lip type seals with the lubricant that is being sealed.
