Correction to Testing and Adjusting , "Vibratory Frequency-Test and Adjust" for the Soil Compactors {6606, 6606}

Usage:

CS-583D 2CZ
Paving Compactor:
CS-583D (S/N: 2CZ1-UP; 3GZ1-UP)
Testing and Adjusting, KENR7027, "Vibratory Frequency-Test and Adjust". The information in the article is incorrect. Replace the portions of the article with the following information.

Correction 1

A "Note" has new information in the "Fixed Frequency-High Amplitude".

Note: Warm up the machine for 30 minutes with the vibratory in operation. The hydraulic oil temperature should be at least 38°C (100°F).

A "Note" has been added in the "Fixed Frequency-High Amplitude".

Note: Place a tire under the drum. The drum should be suspended at least 102 mm (4 inch) above the ground. If tires are not available, use a suitable lifting device and raise the machine off the ground. Support the machine at the yoke. Make sure that the drum is at least 13 mm (0.5 inch)above the ground.

Correction 2

Information in Step 4 of "Fixed Frequency-High Amplitude" should be replaced with the following:

Depress vibratory on/off control switch (1) to the ON position in order to start the vibratory system. Record the vibrations per minute (VPM) from the optional gauge on the steering console. The vibrations per minute may be read from 133-0963 Vibration Tachometer or the 133-9905 Frequency Meter. The maximum VPM setting for high amplitude for the CS-563D and the CP-563D should be 1965 ± 50 VPM. The maximum VPM setting for high amplitude on the CS-583D should be 1850 + 50 - 100 VPM.

Correction 3

Information in Step 2 of "Fixed Frequency-Low Amplitude" should be replaced with the following:

Depress vibratory on/off control switch (1) to the ON position in order to start the vibratory system. Read the vibrations per minute (VPM) from optional VPM gauge or read the VPM from the 133-0963 Vibration Tachometer or the 133-9905 Frequency Meter. The maximum VPM for low amplitude for the CS-563D and the CP-563D should be 1965 ± 50 VPM. The maximum VPM setting for high amplitude on the CS-583D should be 1850 + 50 - 100 VPM.

Correction 4

Information in Step 2 of "Variable Frequency-High Amplitude-Maximum Frequency" should be replaced with the following:

Depress vibratory on/off control switch (1) in order to start the vibratory system. Read the vibrations per minute (VPM) from optional VPM gauge or read the VPM from the 133-0963 Vibration Tachometer or the 133-9905 Frequency Meter. The maximum frequency for high amplitude for the CS-563D and the CP-563D should be 1965 ± 50 VPM. The maximum VPM setting for high amplitude on the CS-583D should be 1850 + 50 - 100 VPM.

Correction 5

Information in Step 2 of "Variable Frequency-Low Amplitude-Maximum Frequency" should be replaced with the following:

Depress vibratory on/off control switch (1) in order to start the vibratory system. Read the vibrations per minute (VPM) from optional VPM gauge or read the VPM from the 133-0963 Vibration Tachometer or the 133-9905 Frequency Meter. Depress the vibratory on/off control switch in order to shut off the vibratory system. The maximum frequency for low amplitude for the CS-563D and the CP-563D should be 1965 ± 50 VPM. The maximum VPM setting for high amplitude on the CS-583D should be 1850 + 50 - 100 VPM.
