824H Wheel Dozer, 825H Soil Compactor and 826H Landfill Compactor Power Train Caterpillar

Electronic Control Module (ECM) - Flash Program

Usage:

824H ASX
Perform the following procedure in order to flash program the power train Electronic Control Module (ECM). The power train ECM is flashed in order to upgrade the software. Flash programming of the power train ECM must also be done if the power train ECM has been replaced. The Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) contains the program WinFlash. WinFlash is used in order to load software into the ECM. The following procedure is used in order to FLASH software into the power train ECM.

Procedure

  1. Connect the 7X-1425 Data Link Cable between the 7X-1700 Communication Adapter and the Electronic Technician.

  1. Connect the 139-4166 Data Link Cable between the 7X-1700 Communication Adapter and the diagnostic connector of the machine.

  1. Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position.

  1. Use WinFlash in order to load the software.

  1. Perform the necessary calibrations. For information on performing calibrations, refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Calibration and Programming".
