NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Attach a suitable lifting device to radiator group (21) by using tooling (A), as shown.

  1. Install radiator group (21). The approximate weight of the radiator group is 750 kg (1650 lb). Install bolts (22) for radiator group (21) .

  1. Connect hose assembly (20) that is located under the access plate.

  1. Install access plate (19) and install bolts (18) to the bottom of radiator and hydraulic oil cooler group.

  1. Connect hose assemblies (16) and (15) for the air conditioning to the condenser. Connect hose assemblies (16) and (15) to clips (17).

  1. Connect tube assembly (10) to the tank assembly for the coolant. Install hose assembly (11). Connect hoses (12) and (13). Connect hose (14) at the engine.

  1. Install upper fan guard (8) and lower fan guard (9). Install bolts (7) .

  1. Connect harness assembly (6) .

  1. Move dryer (5) into position. Secure dryer (5) with brackets (4) .

  1. Raise panel (2) into position. Install bolts (3) and install the clips (not shown) that hold the hose assembly for the air conditioner to the back of the panel.

  1. Install bolts (1).

  1. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities (Refill)".

  1. Fill the hydraulic tank. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities (Refill)".

End By: Install the air cleaner. For additional information, refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Air Cleaner - Remove and Install".
