Each drum assembly contains a fixed eccentric weight. The eccentric weight is located inside a sealed eccentric weight housing which is bolted to the center internal support. The eccentric weight housing sealed in order to reduce the risk of contamination. The housing and the eccentric weight can be removed from the drum as a unit.
The eccentric weight is connected to a drive shaft. The vibratory motor is splined to the drive shaft. When the vibratory system is ON, the vibratory motor rotates the eccentric weights by rotating the drive shaft. Since the center of gravity of the eccentric weight is not in the center of the drive shaft, rotation of the eccentric weight causes the drum to vibrate. Oil inside the housing lubricates the rotating weight. The rotating weight is cooled by the oil in the housing. The oil fill/drain plugs are located on the side of the housing, opposite of the drive shaft.
