SUBJECT: Heavy Duty On-Highway Truck Engine Software ? Clack Test
PROBLEM:
Some of the current 1999/2000/Clean Power Software for heavy-duty truck engines may inhibit the Injector Clack Test from working properly when the ECM is first powered. When performing the injector clack test, ET may report open circuit faults on all cylinders. This is an indication that the test did not run properly.
SOLUTION:
In the near future, new flashfiles will be released. In the interim, perform the following procedure:
- Crank the engine briefly without starting.
- Stop cranking the engine. Leave the key in the ON position so that power is flowing to the ECM.
- Perform the Clack Test.
