Changing The Pattern Of The Joystick Controls Caterpillar

Changing The Pattern Of The Joystick Controls

Usage:

EXCAVATORS301.5 (3YW1-UP),
302.5 (4AZ1-UP) MINI-HYDRAULIC EXCAVATORS

Problem:

Machines shipped without a factory installed joystick pattern changer may be nodified although information is not currently available on how to change the pattern of the joystick controls.

Solution:

Table 1 defines the joystick patterns.

There are two types of modifications available to change the pattern of the joystick controls.

1. A permanent change from Type 1 pattern (factory installed) to Type 2 pattern.
2. Installing a pattern changer control valve that provides an ability to switch from one pattern to another by moving a selector spool. The pattern changer provides a selector spool to swtich from the different patterns.

Table 2 provides the part numbers for the control pattern changer.
