Machines That Are Equipped With 136-4652 Cleaner Bar Group Have Experienced Finger Loosening

Usage:

WHEEL LOADERS826G (7LN1-465) LANDFILL COMPACTORS

Problem:

Reports that the 7I-3968 Bar is loosening have been received. The loosening may be caused by insufficient bolt stretch, improper torque, or the incorrect positioning of the bar.

Solution:

The following procedure should be used to position and tighten the bars.

1. Replace the existing 8T-4167 Washers with new 5D-4661 Washers.
2. Apply 4C-9507 Thread Lock to the bolt threads just prior to installation.
3. Adjust the bar so that the gap between the bar and the wheel equals the dimensions that are listed in Detail A, Detail B, and Detail C.
4. Torque bolts (1) to 900 ± 100 N·m (660 ± 75 lb ft).
