SUBJECT: THE STRAINER ASSEMBLY FOR THE HYDRAULIC TANK FILLER TUBE MAY RUST

PROBLEM:

The 3D-6678 Strainer As has been found to be rusting and breaking apart on several machines in the field. It is possible for the strainer assembly to break into pieces and fall into the hydraulic tank, where it can be ingested by the hydraulic system pump and cause the pump to fail.

SOLUTION:

Inspect the hydraulic tank strainer assembly for rusting or for corrosion. If rusting or corrosion is found, replace the strainer assembly. Perform periodic inspections at each PM to determine the condition of the strainer assembly. Replace the strainer assembly whenever rusting or corrosion is found.
