PROBLEM
The existing fan guard mount bolts on the 467-4781 Prelube Motor can break on certain G3512H, G3516H, and G3520H Generator Sets. If the existing fan guard bolts break the guard can/will fall off the prelube motor. |

ACTION REQUIRED
1.0 Updating the fan guard 1.1 Remove cover of electrical junction box and disconnect wire. 1.2 Remove mounting hardware and set aside. (Image 1) 1.3 Remove old fan guard (not reused). (Image 1) 1.4 Remove fan from motor (save). (Image 2) 1.5 Remove motor housing cover (not reused) but save mounting hardware. 1.6 Unplug wiring and remove centrifugal switch from housing cover. (Image 3) 2.0 Use parts from new kit 525-1867 for reassembly. 2.1 Reinstall centrifugal switch and install new housing cover 545-9465 with existing hardware. (Image 3) 2.2 Reinstall fan (that was saved from step 1.4). 2.3 Install new fan guard 548-1410 with new bolts 548-1237. Tighten the new bolts to 10 Nm. (Image 4) 2.4 Reinstall electrical junction box and reconnect wiring (from steps 1.1 and 1.2). 3.0 Updating mounting hardware of capacitor box 3.1 Remove box cover plate. (Image 1) 3.2 Remove mounting hardware one at a time and replace the current fasteners with bolts 6V-3260 and lockwashers 3B-4504. Tighten hardware to 15 Nm. (Image 5) |
