NOTE: | This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI32801" as the Part Number and "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI32801" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code. |

PROBLEM
The existing machine software needs to be updated on certain 420F2 backhoe loaders. The existing software does not have the auto disengage feature and catastrophic failure on the rear axle may occur when the differential lock is engaged at a higher speed. This update protects the rear axle differential lock from failing. |

Update the existing machine software with the new 539-1423 Machine Software Group. The new software is available in the form of a flash file through the Caterpillar Service Information System (SIS). A newer part number may be available. SIS web only displays the latest available flash file. |
