A wiring diagram change on 15MAY2009 resulted in the wrong selection of sensor for engine software causing inaccurate readings on certain PM3516 Power Modules. The sensor transfer function based in the engine software contains a slope and intercept that is incorrect to interpret appropriate readings. The sensor may provide a 15 degrees Celsius lower reading than the actual oil temperature. |

In order to allow equitable parts availability to all participating dealers, please limit your initial parts order to not exceed 7% of dealership population. This is an initial order recommendation only, and the ultimate responsibility for ordering the total number of parts needed to satisfy the program lies with the dealer.
|
Remove the existing engine oil temperature sensor and install the new 264-4297 Sensor, with the 238-5080 O-ring, use the corresponding Adapter per Group 1 or Group 2, and 445-5973 Harness. Tighten the sensor to a specified torque of 20 +/- 3 N.m. Refer to Image1 for the sensor location on engine. |
