Ensuring that the dipstick/fill plug is fully seated prior to removing it to check the oil level will reduce an erroneous oil level indication. To fully seat the dipstick/fill plug, reinstall the dipstick/fill plug hand tight after it has been removed and wiped clean.

The maintenance procedures for checking and for changing the oil in the differential and final drives should be modified to contain the following instruction.

NOTE: Install the dipstick/fill plug hand tight in order to fully seat the dipstick/fill plug before you check the oil level. Failure to have the dipstick/fill plug fully seated will result in an incorrect oil level indication.
