Improved Gas Springs Increase Service Life {7254}

914G (7ZM1-Up, 9WM1-Up) Wheel Loaders;
IT14G (1WN1-Up, 8ZM1-Up) Integrated Toolcarriers

The 160-6154 Gas Spring, part of the 122-2334 Hood and Guard, have replaced the 130-3001 and the 110-9589 Gas Springs. The 160-6154 Gas Spring has reduced leakage and will provide increased reliability.

NOTE: The gas spring is designed to assist in opening the hood cover only. The hood support should be used if the hood is required to stay open.

The 8T-4185 Bolts holding the 118-8028 Liner, part of the 122-2334 Hood and Guard, have replaced the former 8T-4186 Bolts. These bolts were replaced to achieve better thread engagement and thread protrusion. If the 8T-4185 Bolts are removed, apply 9S-3263 Thread Lock to the bolts during reassembling.

The effectivity of the change is listed in Chart 1.
