Description of Change: A new check valve is used in the electric refueling pump to increase operation performance. The new check valve is tested in the factory and the seal is fuel and water proof.
Adaptable To: The new 165-4185 Check Valve Replaces the former 5W-9384 Check Valve on the machine applications listed above. The new check valve for the refueling pump is effective with M312 (6TL520), M315 (7ML1004), M318 (6ES234, 8AL1498, 8SS451) and M320 (6WL204, 9PS241) Excavators. A new 165-4186 Coupling is also required to adapt the new check valve to existing machines in the field.

NOTE: If a machine is reworked in order to install the new check valve and coupling, there may be interference when the hood is closed. It is recommended to loosen the bottom connection at the refueling pump and turning the piping at a slightly different angle in order to provide enough clearance with the hood.
