Failures in the 4E-3969 and 107-6038 Pedal Assemblies have been reported. Most failures have occurred in open ROPS machines operating in corrosive environments. The 4E-3969 Pedal Assembly was used in F Series Wheel Loaders and Integrated Toolcarriers. The 107-6038 Pedal Assembly was used in the G Series Wheel Loaders and Integrated Toolcarriers.
Machines equipped with the 4E-3969 Pedal Assembly should periodically spray the pivot pin joint with white lithium grease to keep the pedal from binding. This is done in production.
The 107-6038 Pedal Assembly has been canceled and replaced by the 145-5852 Pedal Assembly. The 145-5852 Pedal Assembly has a stainless steel pivot pin to resist rusting. The 145-5852 Pedal Assembly production effectivity is listed in Chart 1.
The 154-0263 Pedal Assembly supersedes 145-5852 Pedal Assembly. Pedal (B) on 154-0263 Pedal Assembly (2) is shorter than Pedal (A) of 145-5852 Pedal Assembly (1). Refer to Illustration 1.
