Usage:
AP-800C (1PM00705-Up),
BG-230 (9AL00279-Up) Asphalt Pavers
Description of Change: Vibrations have caused the EDC wires on the tandem conveyor pumps to fatigue and eventually break due to the previous harness routing on the AP-800C/BG-230 asphalt pavers. This creates a short in the electrical system and causes the augers and feeders to stop working. To help correct this problem, two 4P-8134 Ladder Clamps and a 8M-2771 P-clip have been added to secure the EDC wire connectors. This change was implemented starting with serial numbers 1PM00705 and 9AL00273.
For machines with earlier serial numbers, this clamping can be added as follows:
Right Conveyor Pump EDC
Location 1: Remove existing bolt and replace with the 4P-8134 Ladder Clip, 5P-4115 Washer, and 7X-2501 Bolt. Fasten the conveyor pump EDC connector to the ladder clip using a 3S-2093 Wire Tie.
Location 2: Remove and save existing bolt and serial number plate. Clip necessary wire ties to allow harness routing around the outside of the pump as shown in the picture above. Plug the harness into the EDC wire connector and secure it using the 8M-2771 P-clip, 5P-4115 Washer, and 7X-2501 Bolt.
Location 3: Remove the existing bolt and replace it with the bolt and serial number plate which were removed from location 2.
Left Conveyor Pump EDC
Location 4: Remove existing bolt and replace it with the 4P-8134 Ladder Clip, 5P-4115 Washer, 7X-2501 Bolt. Fasten the conveyor pump EDC connector to the ladder clip using a 3S-2093 Wire Tie.
After all clamps have been added and the connectors are secured in place, wire tie the harness as necessary in order to remove any excess slack.
