Description of Change: A new engine auxiliary water pump group [Separate Circuit Aftercooler (SCAC)] and changes to the aftercooler water lines group provide increased serviceability to the 3616 Machine Engine in these trucks. The housing on the new water pump and the tube that routs the water from the new water pump outlet to the aftercooler have been changed. These changes allow either the auxiliary water pump or the new tube to be removed from the engine without disturbing the other.
Adaptable To: The new 137-8242 Water Pump Group, 137-8216 Tube, 137-8213 Flange, 2H-3928 Seal, and two 0L-2070 Bolts replace the former 122-0504 Water Pump Group. The former water pump group is canceled and replaced by the above components. The new 137-8216 Tube, 137-8213 Flange, 2H-3928 Seal, and two 0L-2070 Bolts are part of the 9Y-8908 Aftercooler Water Lines Group that replace the former 7E-8708 Tube.
The new water pump group and changes to the aftercooler water lines group are effective with 793C (4AR272-Up) Trucks. Chart A identifies the effectivity of the new water pump group and changes to the aftercooler water lines group in the 3516 Machine Engines and Remanufactured 3516 Machine Engines for 793, 793B and 793C Trucks. The illustration and Chart B identify the components needed to install the new water pump group and new tube in the aftercooler water lines group.
The only difference between the new 137-8242 and former 122-0504 Water Pump Group is the water pump housings. The new pump group includes a 137-8217 Water Pump Housing while the former pump group included a 7E-7629 Water Pump Housing. The new water pump housing can be installed on a 122-0504 Water Pump Group.
