With a variable speed fan clutch installed, the fan speed sensor is not easy to access and may be difficult to remove. If a fan speed sensor failure occurred, the fan clutch would have to be removed to replace the sensor.
A modification can be made to the 109-8086 Bracket-Shaft Assembly (part of the fan drive group) to allow easier removal of the 126-1132 Fan Speed Sensor. This modification should be done when:
-
- 1. A machine is being retrofitted from a standard or analog controlled fan to the ECM controlled variable speed fan.
- 2. Convenient on all machines which already have the ECM controlled variable speed fan clutch installed without this bracket modification.
- 1. A machine is being retrofitted from a standard or analog controlled fan to the ECM controlled variable speed fan.
Modification
Machine two radii through the 109-8086 Bracket-Shaft Assembly at centers (A-C) and (B-D), as shown in the illustration, to a 12.7 mm (.50 in) Radius.
Dimensions for modification of the 109-8086 Bracket-Shaft Assembly. (A) 8.13 mm (.320 in). (B) 20.83 mm (.820 in). (C) 29.69 mm (1.169 in). (D) 20.83 mm (.820 in). (X) 12.7 mm (.50 in) Radius 2 Places.
