Adjustment Procedure For Cab Door Latch And Hold-Open Release {7301,7308}

Usage:

914G (7ZM, 9WM) Wheel Loaders IT14G (1WN, 8ZM) Integrated Tool Carriers

A procedure for adjusting the cab door latch and hold-open release is now available. The door latch must be checked for adjustment prior to setting the hold-open release. This assures that both latches are in relationship to each other and function properly.

This procedure is affective on all Wheel Loaders listed above. The following charts, illustrations, and procedures represent the recommended adjustment for the cab door latch and hold-open release latch.

Cab Door Latch Adjustment Procedure

1. Close the cab door and adjust striker (1) in the cab.

* Cab striker (1) must be centered vertically in latch as jaws (4).
* The latch jaws in latch as (4) must engage smoothly.

2. Check interference between striker head (1), latch jaws (2), and latch case. It must be minimal.

3. Check cab door for both primary and secondary latch positions.

* Primary latch position - door is fully closed and fully latched.
* Secondary latch position - door is latched but latch as jaws are not in fully latched position.

4. If primary latched position is not achieved, repeat steps (1) thru (3) until primary latched position is achieved with correct door seal pressure.

NOTE: Hinge adjustment may be required to achieve primary latched position.

NOTE: It is possible to make adjustment as described above with the cab door latch as only in the secondary position. Verify the latch position with the correct door seal pressure.

NOTE: Latches are coated with dry lubrication to maintain smooth operation. Wet lubrication is not recommended due to dust build-up it will cause.

Cab Door Hold-Open Release Latch Adjustment Procedure

1. Loosen door bumper locknut (3) and turn door bumper (2) clockwise to allow alignment of latch (6) and striker (5).

2. 2. Open the cab door and engage latch (6) to striker (5).

* The striker must be vertically centered in the latch pawl.
* The pawl must engage smoothly.
* The engagement of striker (5) and latch (6) must not guide the cab door downward or upward.

NOTE: Loosen striker (5) and latch (6) to adjust alignment. Tighten when alignment is final.

3. Extend door bumper (2) to attain required force to activate latch lever. (Force not to exceed 100 N (22 lbs)).

4. Tighten door bumper lock nut (3).
