Description of Change: New interaxle differential groups are used. The interaxle differential groups contain new thrust discs, pinions, pinion spacers and roller bearings. The new thrust discs, which are made of plastic, will improve the service life of the interaxle differential. The former thrust washers were made of bronze.
Adaptable To: The new 101-5544 Differential Group is a direct replacement for the former 7U-4079 Differential Group in the D300D (5MG) and D350D (9RF) Articulated Trucks. The new 101-5545 Differential Group is a direct replacement for the former 7U-4078 Differential Group in the D25D (1HK) and D30D (3AJ) Articulated Trucks. The 101-5544 and 101-5545 Differential Groups contain new thrust discs, pinions, pinion spacers and roller bearings. See the chart and illustration. This change is effective with D25D (1HK427-432, 1HK437-UP), D30D (3AJ331), D300D (5MG191, 193-Up) and D350D (9RF520) Articulated Trucks.
When used together, the new thrust discs, pinions, pinion spacers and roller bearings are direct replacements for the former parts and are adaptable to earlier machines. The former parts are still serviced except for 7U-1201 Roller Bearing which is canceled and replaced by 107-8207 Roller Bearing.
