New Bolts And Washers Used In Rear Axle Spindle To Rear Axle Joint Provides Additional Strength To Prevent Bolt Breakage{3260}

Description of Change: New higher strength bolts and new washers, which allow more face load, are used to mount the rear axle spindle to the rear axle housing. These bolt and washer changes will permit the torque specification of the new bolt to be increased and prevent bolt breakage.

Adaptable To: The new 129-3175 Bolt and 9X-8399 Washer are direct replacements for the former 8T-0369 Bolt and 3S-7023 Washer. The new 129-3175 Bolts and 9X-8399 Washers are effective with 793B (1HL345) Truck and are adaptable to all earlier 793 (3SJ) and 793B (1HL) Trucks.

Tighten the new 129-3175 Bolts to a torque of 1800 ± 200 N·m (1320 ± 145 ft lb).

Location of new 129-3175 Bolts (1) and 9X-8399 Washers (2) mounting spindle (3) to axle housing (4).
